Latest Happenings

  • Chasing 3000, waiting intently on this one. I actually got an invite to the World Premiere for this film in NYC on April 29th. Didn't get to go, but the writer, Bill Mikita emailed me and said he'd keep updated on the release date. We have been made aware that the release date is April 8, 2008!
  • 2008 will see A Perfect Game, starring Cheech Marin about how a team from Monterrey, Mexico became the first non-US team to win the Little League World Series. The film is in post-production status.
  • It's been reported that Robert Redford will be featured in a movie about Jackie Robinson's fight against racism in baseball, 1947. The movie will follow Robinson's early life in Southern California and his relationship with manager Branch Rickey, played by Redford. Source: Click here for evidence.
  • In the works in a film titled 3 Nights in August about story centering on a three-game baseball series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs in 2003.
  • The story (documentary) of the International League Baltimore Orioles from 1903 through 1953 is in production. It will be called The Forgotten Birds. Yes, Baltimore had minor league ball for 50 years and had one of the best minor league teams ever. This is where Maryland natives and Hall of famers Babe Ruth and Lefty Grove got their start in pro ball. Go back in time and relive the days in Baltimore and at old Oriole Park and Municipal Stadium on 33rd. Check out the website.
  • The Founder/Executive Producer from The Forgotten Birds Stephen Johnson is making a second documemtary. It's now in pre production , the title is Gettysburg Eddie. This is the story of Eddie Plank the Hall of Fame pitcher that played from 1901 through 1917.Take a little time and go to the documentary website www.gettysburgeddie.com and read about it. Should be put together and ready in the fall of 2007.

  • Sony Pictures has acquired the Michael Lewis bestseller "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game."
