Sparky Smith was manager of the Seattle Mariners until his mouth got him fired. Desperate for work, Sparky agrees to manage the only team that will have him...the Russian Olympic team. Once in Russia Sparky discovers these ballplayers barely know their way around the diamond. Things get interesting when Sparky is told to go to the States and play his old team the Mariners.
