College professor and baseball fan Vernon Simpson accidently invents a liquid that makes a baseball resistant to the touch of wood. The professor takes his new formula to St. Louis in hopes of getting rich, romance and a successful pitching career of his own. However, what will happen when the formula stops working?

"Double. It's Baseball meets the Nutty Professor. This light comedy has you cheering on that over night sensation, who came from nowhere. What makes him the pitcher of the year? You have got to try this one out. I'll say this...if this is ever a remake then Kevin Kostner could rekindle his career with a stab at "It Happens Every Spring" --Josepi
