"Released in 1950 this film actually has Jackie Robinson playing himself...and he's a pretty decent actor. The film is definitely tamed down compared to if it had been done today. Yet, it is still able to get the point across of what Jackie went through. You'd have to assume the film was extremely accurate in depicting the events, being that Robinson was so heavily involved in the film. A treat to watch because of Robinson's role, but overall a mediocre baseball movie." --Jason of BaseballMovie.com
